Saturday 26th April saw the 2nd year of the Daffodils Sportive, run in memory of Jean Williamson who we sadly lost to a long battle with Cancer in June 2012

With 3 distance options for riders the event caters for all abilities and takes in quiet country lanes, small villages and beautiful countryside scenery. With nearly 500 riders taking part the scene was set for a fantastic days cycling, starting in Thirsk.

The short route measured 57.3km, the medium 124.6km and the long route a challenging 141.7km.

Riders were expected to tackle the long route in 6-9 hours but the first man home Paul Caswell (Zyro brand manager) averaged over 20mph in his 4:30:35 ride!

At present the leaders jerseys for the General Classification, King of the Mountains, and best Youth riders are still being confirmed, but we will share them as soon as they are available.
