The Ridge is built for big days on the hills, where the weather turns and you're still hours from the car. A high quality three-layer fabric carries a 20K/20K waterproof and breathability rating with a C0 DWR finish, and fully taped seams close off every stitch. The soft touch handfeel means it doesn't rustle or feel plasticky as you move, which matters when you're wearing it all day.

Ventilation is where it pulls ahead. A front zip mesh gaiter system lets you run the jacket open without letting rain in, so you can dial airflow up and down as the gradient changes, with pit zips backing it up on the hardest efforts. Storage is genuinely generous: massive hand pockets take gloves, food and a spare tube, with an internal chest pocket for the things you want kept dry. The hood is sized for a helmet and pulls down with a simple volume reduction system when you're off the bike, and the relaxed MTB fit gives you room to move without looking like a tent.

How is the Ridge different from the Esker?

The Ridge steps up to a 20K/20K fabric against the Esker's 10K/10K, so it handles longer, harder days in worse weather. It also adds the front zip mesh gaiter venting system, an internal chest pocket and a larger hood. The Esker is the value-focused trail centre and urban option.
What does the mesh gaiter do?

It sits behind the front zip, so you can unzip the jacket for airflow while the mesh keeps rain and spray off your chest. It gives you far more control than simply zipping up or down.
Will the hood work without a helmet?

Yes. It's sized to fit over a helmet, and the volume reduction system pulls it in for a close fit when you're riding bare-headed or wearing it off the bike.
